I have been riding Wes since August of 2010. I got him from
a friend, Charlie Plumb. I grew up riding with Charlie's
parents, Donnan and Mike, when they lived in Chesapeake
City, MD. When both of my advanced horses were hurt after
Bromont 2010, I was trying to find an advanced horse to lease
for the fall season. I called Charlie, who was receptive to the
idea. He did not own Wes outright; the other owner was a
little concerned, but they made it possible for me to buy him.
I am very grateful to them for making it happen. I am really
enjoying working with Wes; he is very different from
anything else I have ridden (he is 18 hands). He is a really
good barometer of how fit and strong I am. He is a very
gentle soul but a physical ride. I am aiming him for the
advanced horse trials this spring and hopefully Bromont
CCIC3* this summer.
